(original citation), herein restricted to Ash Meadows, Nye County (see Willis 1967: 280). Syntype(s) in MCZ [# 26].
Distribution.
This subspecies, also known as the "Nevada Tiger Beetle", is found in the Great Basin region of Nevada and California south to northern Sonora [see Willis 1967: Fig. 143].

Note.
Another subspecies,
Ellipsoptera nevadica metallica
(Sumlin), is known from the state of Coahuila.
