Remarks
This species is close to
Drymeia aeneoventrosa
(Fan, Jin and Wu)
, but differs from it by the presence of a conspicuous row of comb-like spines on C vein, with 1 strong
pra
, notopleuron with hairs, calypters brown or yellowish, different from color of their margins, mid femur with a complete row of
av
.
Etymology
The species name is from the Latin words
spin-
meaning spine and
costa
meaning brim, referring to the anterior margin of C vein in the male that has a conspicuous row of comb-like spines.
