Discussion.
The species-group name bicarinata in combination with
Valvata
is preoccupied by the Recent species
Valvata bicarinata
Lea, 1841 from Pennsylvania, USA. The taxonomic separation from
Valvata heidemariae
Willmann, 1981 seems plausible, given the presence of a strong median keel on the upper whorl surface that is lacking in the nominal species.
