Gills biserial, 11 pairs. Rostrum as rounded lobe. Ocular acicles simple. Crista dentata with 1 accessory tooth. Chelipeds markedly unequal, right elongate in large males. Sternite of somite XII (thoracomere 6, pereopod 3) with subrectangular anterior lobe. Pereopod 4 semichelate; propodal rasp with 1 row of corneous scales; no preungual process. Male with moderate sexual tube on coxa of left pereopod 5; right without sexual tube; no unpaired pleopods. Female with pleopods 2–4. Telson with terminal margin entire. Type species: Anapagurus drachi Forest, 1966 .
