Papua New Guinea : 1 male (24.7 × 16.0 mm) (MNHN-IU-2014-8128) [photographed], stn CP4445, New Ireland , 02°15’S 150°17’E , 342–380 m , coll. KAVIENG 2014, 1 September 2014 .— 1 ovigerous female (17.4 × 11.6 mm ) (MNHN-IU-2014-8129) [photographed], stn CP4445, New Ireland , 02°15’S 150°17’E , 342–380 m , coll. KAVIENG 2014, 1 September 2014 . Remarks. The specimens of Laubierinia carinata collected in the Bismarck Sea are larger than in earlier reported series (cf. Richer de Forges & Poore 2008 ; Richer de Forges & Ng 2009a ) but otherwise agree well with published material from the Solomon Islands and Vanuatu . The known distribution of L . carinata includes Indonesia , northwestern Australia , Papua New Guinea , Solomon Island, Vanuatu , and New Caledonia . The live coloration of the Papua New Guinea specimens is an orange carapace with white gastric, cardiac and branchial plates, orange and white hepatic plates, and orange for the other large granules on the carapace ( Fig. 1B ).
