Distribution and habitat: Onosma bracteatum grows on rocky slopes, morainic deposite screes or river sides. Its altitude ranges from 3300 to 5000 m , widely distributed in Kashmir, North-Western India , Central and Western Nepal . Phenology: —Flowering and fruiting from June to August. Taxonomic notes: Onosma bracteatum is very distinct from the other species of Onosma in Pan-Himalaya in having broad, triple-veined leaves, dark red corolla shorter than calyx, villous bracts broadly lanceolate and narrowed into long attenuated tips.
