Cells are Gram-staining-negative, non-flagellated, non-pigmented, and rod-shaped. Colonies are circular, raised, undulated, and yellow-colored after 3 days of incubation on MA at 20°C. Positive for gelatinase but negative for nitrate reduction, indole production, glucose fermentation, arginine dihydrolase, and gelatinase in the API 20NE test.
