Fontana et al. (2021
: fig. 13) commented on a specimen morphologically assignable to
C. pyrenaica
from the Sierra Nevada Mountains in Southern Spain (Picacho de Veleta; Museum National
d'Histoire
Naturelle, Paris). As
Fontana et al. (2021)
discussed, it is quite possible that the specimen could be mislabelled, as it has already happened with other specimens of
Dermaptera
labelled erroneously from the Sierra Nevada Mountains, otherwise a quite well explored mountain chain (
Garcia-Paris
2017
). The presence of
Chelidura
in the Sierra Nevada Mountains should be treated as doubtful until additional specimens come to light.
