Distribution. Western Atlantic—Venezuela and Brazil (from Amapá to Rio Grande do Sul ) ( Melo 1996 , 2010 ). Ecological notes. From intertidal waters to 35 m , usually on mud bottoms ( Melo 2010 ). Some individuals of L. ferreirae found living inside the oral arms or the gastrovascular cavity of Lychnorhiza lucerna Haeckel (Cnidaria, Schyphozoa), only one per jellyfish, in Southern Brazil (Nogueira Jr. & Haddad 2005).
