Remarks
This undoubtedly new species is represented by a single female specimen in our collection from the light trap at Tawau River. It appears most similar in proportion, elytral shape and size to
Grouvellinus borneensis
sp. nov.
, but differs externally by the bluish-purple metallic shine and a more rugose pronotum. It possesses the distinct rugulose elongate elytral patches between intervals 1 and 3 as also seen in females of the former species (comp.

. Due to the lack of male specimens and their aedeagi as the most distinctive morphological character,we refrain from a formal description. However, we provide an mtDNA barcode for comparison with any additional material to be described in the future:

Grouvellinus
species of Borneo.
