Revision in part of the genus Nebrioporus Régimbart, 1906, with emphasis on the N. laeviventris-group (Coleoptera: Dytiscidae) Author Toledo, Mario text Zootaxa 2009 2009-03-16 2040 1 111 journal article 11755334 The Macaronesian Nebrioporus Two species of unclear position within the genus occur in this area, endemic of the Canary Islands and Madeira respectively. They have obsolete punctuation on the ventral face of the head and underside of the body, with traces of a postocular ridge visible, but, most probably this condition has been developed independently with respect to the lineage of the laeviventris , abyssinicus and kilimandjarensis -groups. Both species share traces of a subapical angulation on each elytron and a external face of metatibiae constantly with supplementary punctures, irregularly distributed or arranged in lines. The shape of the parameres apparently is intermediate between points 5)i) and 5)ii) (see above in "discussion of characters").
