Neoponera villosa ( Fig. 2I, J ) was identified following descriptions by Mackay and Mackay (2010) and Fernandes et al. (2014) works where they highlighted several conspicuous features. Body large (about 15 mm ), black, covered by long golden-yellow hairs. Legs reddish-brown. Petiole thick in profile, with anterior face slightly concave and posterior face rounded and convex. Anterior clypeal margin convex but concave medially with a median notch; malar carina well defined; stridulatory organ is well developed in second tergite on gaster.
