The specimens were collected at an altitude of 210 m, together with
L. glaucus
and
N. richardi
sp. nov. The characteristics and environmental conditions of the sampling site (Anjouan, Riv. Tatinga) are described in
Starmuehlner
(1979
: p. 654): river width 4-8 m, depth 5-10 cm, water temperature ca. 25 °C, bottom substrata consisted of basaltic boulder, gravel and muddy sand.
