Rhysipolis stevearonsoni is named in honor of Steve Aronson of San Jose, Costa Rica, in recognition of decades of concern and involvement with the betterment of Costa Rica's positive relationship with its wild environment, and specifically with providing broadband internet to Area de Conservacion Guanacaste as the first Costa Rican Area de Conservacion to be so facilitated.
