S.] 1814: 310; Type locality: Iran in lakes along the Kura River. No types known. Common name : Pr: Siyah koli, Koli, En: Persian vimba, Caspian vimba. Diagnosis : Snout projects over the lower jaw and in large fish is quite bulbous and naked ventral keel. Meristic characters : D: II–III 7–9 (8), A: III 16–19, P: 14–17, V: 8–9, GR: 15–20, LL: 47–55, TV: 41–33. Distribution : Caspian Sea basin ( Fig. 282 ). Sefidrud, Gorgan, Gharasu, Tajan, Babol, Haraz, Sardab, Valiabad, Tonekabon, Polrud, Havigh rivers, and the southeast, southwest and south-central Caspian Sea as well as Anzali Wetland.
