Lectotype, designated by Bousquet (1997b: 332), in ZMMU. Synonymy established by Lindroth (1963b: 360), confirmed by Bousquet (1997b: 332). Distribution. This species is found from Saskatchewan to western British Columbia, north to southern Northwest Territories (Lindroth 1963b: 361), south to central California along the coast (Motschulsky, 1859a: 131, as Bembidion variolosum ) and southern Colorado (LeConte 1879d: 501; Wickham 1902: 234).
