Members of this species group usually have a mesoscutum almost as evenly banded with hair as the “
iridipennis
” group, but these species are larger, with forewing length, including tegula, measuring between 4.2 and
4.8 mm
. Sakagami (1978) referred to this species group as the taxonomically most difficult group within
Tetragonula
. A single species has been reported in
India
.
