Diagnosis.
Green moths with brownish grey, slender marginal band which does not reach costa of fore wing; male hind legs hairy as in
O. arpata
and
O. similiplaga
; in wing pattern much reminiscent of and hardly distinguishable from the common form of
O. similiplaga
, but perhaps the chequering of fringe slightly more conspicuous; male sternite A8 with two long, tapered distal projections which are roundly bilobed in others. The aedeagus with shorter caulis than in
O. arpata
and
O. similiplaga
.
Description.
Wingspan,
18–19 mm
(Fig. 17). The frons is relatively broad, reddish brown. The palpi slightly exceed the frons. The wings are green with the discal spots blackish, the costal edge of the fore wing and the distal margin of both wings are lined in brown. The width of the brownish grey marginal band varies, being the widest against the discal cell of the fore wing, at the tornus of the fore wing and to the tip of the hind wing. The hind wing apex is usually suffused darker or blackish, slightly darker than other parts of the marginal band. The tip of the fore wing is green. The male hind tibiae are hairy.
Male genitalia (Fig. 53): The uncus is reduced, the gnathi are short, hooked. The distal tip of the valva is shorter than in
O. similiplaga
and it bears shorter setae. The harpe is slightly S-shaped with its tip upcurved (while downcurved in
O. rufilimes
). The ventral margin of the valva is shallowly emarginated, the distal margin of the sacculus ending in a short process towards the tip of the harpe. The aedeagus is long, without any large cornuti. The last sternite has two large, triangular distal projections.
Female genitalia (Fig. 77): The apophyses anteriores are reduced to triangular processes. The ostium bursae is large, conical, there is some sclerotization in the anterior part of ductus bursae. The signum is of irregular shape.
Genetic data.

Distribution.
Peru
(locus typicus: Prov.

Colombia
(
Cook & Scoble 1995
). New country record:
Ecuador
.
Biology.
The material was collected in November, December, February, April and May in montane rainforests and on cultivated areas with forest fragments. The collecting localities are on mountain slopes at about
1000–1500 m
elevation.
