Hydryphantes
(s.str.)
clypeatus
Thor, 1899
Species
incerta
Discussion:
This species may be characterized by an enlarged frontal shield with very short posterior extensions and a straight posterior margin. The specimens described under this name by
Sokolow (1940)
and
Láska (1964)
obviously lie within the variability range described by
Lundblad (1962)
for
H. planus
. As the
holotype
of
H. clypeatus
is lost and the original description is incomplete, it must be considered a
species
incerta
.
