HABITATS AND DISTRIBUTION. — This species inhabits West and Central African forest (
Fedden & MacLeod 1986
). According to
Eger (2013)
, this species can be encountered in lowland forest, montane forest and farmlands where it roosts in caves. The species had previously been recorded from Mount
Cameroon
(
Eisentraut 1963
,
1973
;
Hill 1968
;
Fedden & MacLeod 1986
), but we did not capture any specimen during our field surveys.
Eisentraut (1963)
recorded this species in primary montane forest at elevations from
1200 m
up to
2260 m
a.s.l., where it roosted in large caves.
