One syntype is deposited in NMPC (ex coll. N. M. Kheil): SYNTYPE ( ♀ with extended right wings): ‘Borneo / coll. Vráz / [reverse of the same label] Brunnea sp. ? [hw] // Brunnea / sp. nov. [hw, orange label] // Brunnea / sp.n. [hw] / det. A. ýejchan 196 [p] // SYNTYPE / BRUNNEA / vrazi Bolívar, 1898 / label attached by NMP [p, red label]’. Current status. Valid species: Hapalophyllum vrazi ( Bolívar, 1898 ) . Comments. The above specimen was found among other unsorted Orthoptera from N. M. Kheil’s collection. Although it does not bear the species name, it is the only specimen in the collection identi¿ed as belonging to the genus Brunnea Brunner von Wattenwyl, 1895 , moreover with the indication that it represents a new species. Its locality data agree with those listed in the original description, and it also corresponds well with the original description in the size of all body parts and the number of spines on metatibiae. We hence consider the specimen a syntype of B. vrazi .
