Barnard, 1971a: 40 , figs 14A, 15S (except S g1). Type locality and specimens. Sri Lanka (formerly Ceylon), India . Holotype , anamorph male, 2 mm . Materal examined. No material available for examination. Diagnosis based on description by Walker (1904) and Thomas (1997) . Diagnosis. Gnathopod 2 carpus denticulate near base, middistal portion with 2 raised processes; dactylus with denticulate inner margin. Note. The descriptions of A. stebbingi are vague and often based on imperfect specimens. Nayar’s description of A. stebbingi falls between Walker’s description of A. stebbingi and the description of A. barnardi . Until examination of material from the type localities, A. stebbingi and A. barnardi will remain separate species, with Nayar’s description of A. stebbingi problematical. Leucomorph (juvenile/sexually dimorphic characters). Unknown. Habitat. Among oyster reefs; no depth reported. Host. Unknown. Distribution. Indian Ocean: Sri Lanka , India ( Walker 1904 ; Nayar 1966 ). Pacific Ocean: Hawaiian Islands (J.L. Barnard 1971a ).
