Diagnosis.
Body brown to dark brown; antennal segment III yellowish at basal 1/2, brownish at apical 1/2, IV yellowish at basal 1/4 – 1/3; legs largely brown, but extreme bases and apices of tibiae yellowish. Head (
Fig. 123
) a little longer than wide, distinctly reticulate, but reticles weak at posterior mid line; antennal segment VIII distinct from VII, segments III and IV with three (1 + 2) and four (2 + 2) sensoria, respectively; mouth cone long, usually reaching mesopresternum (
Figs 125–128
). Pronotum (
Fig. 124
) reticulate, not tuberculate; basantra absent; fore tarsus with a tooth in both sexes; mesonotum (
Fig. 129
) with minute tubercles along transverse lines of reticulation, but the lines weakly defined, weakly coarse among lines; metanotum (
Fig. 129
) longitudinally striate or reticulate. Male pore plate on abdominal sternite VIII widely developed, but anterior margin eroded at middle; S1 setae on tergite IX a little longer than half the length of tube; S2 setae on tergite IX expanded in female, pointed in male; tube about two-thirds as long as head in female; anal setae much longer than tube.
This species was described based on several females and males collected together with
lepidus
from Northern
Thailand
, and belongs to the
amabilis
group. The mouth cone of this species is comparatively long, usually reaching the mesopresternum. Recently, further several females and males have been collected from some sites in Northern
Thailand
