Taxonomic note. In several of the examined specimens the elytral coarse punctures between discal stria and elytral suture, as described by Young 1978 , appears almost indistinct which externally makes the distinction with N. malkini considerably difficult. In addition, the dorsal coloration described by Young differs widely from that of the examined specimens. The reddish brown of the head and the dark brownish yellow of the elytra are replaced by a uniform dark brown. The sum of these characteristics makes these specimens extremely similar to N. petrareptans , even for aedeagal features, though without the diagnostic male pro- and mesotarsal claws of the latter (see also Manuel 2015 ; Baca & Short 2018 ). Geographic distribution. Notomicrus gracilipes is known from Guatemala , Honduras , Mexico , Nicaragua , Panama and the Brazilian states of Amazonas, Mato Grosso and Rio de Janeiro. First record for Amazonas and Rio de Janeiro.
