Theognete janzeni Anderson , new species ( Figures 49 , 53 , 57 ) Diagnosis . Size. Length, male, 4.44mm ; female, 4.27–5.06mm . Width, male, 2.42mm ; female, 2.53–2.92mm . As for T. laevis except pronotum more obviously punctate except for glabrous, impunctate, broad middle line. Pronotum and elytra with vestiture denser, scales very fine and hair-like, suberect and strongly arched, linearly arranged on elytra. Aedeagus as in Fig. 53 . Geographical distribution . México ( Oaxaca ). Natural history . No information available, but the habitat in the Temascal area is lowland dry tropical forest at about 100m elevation. It is possible that specimens were collected in leaf litter in this habitat. Derivation of specific name . Named after Daniel H. Janzen of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania , the collector of the type series . Material examined . 1♂ , 2♀♀ ( CMNC , CUIC ). Holotype ( CUIC ): MÉXICO : Oaxaca , Temascal , 10.II.1964 , D.H.
