Ecology.
Portuguese sampling sites were either mountainous or contained peat bog areas. This corresponds very well with the habitat preference of this species in northwestern Europe where it is mainly found in humid heathlands and peat bogs (
Pollet
et al
. 1988
;
Maes & Pollet 1997
).
