Differential diagnosis. Related to L. lutescens Brailovsky ( Figs. 14–16 ) by the similitude of antennal segment III (elongate and slender), humeral angles rounded, not exposed, antennal segment IV black, and color pattern of pronotal disk, scutellum, clavus and corium. Both species have the thorax entirely yellowish orange. In L. lutescens ( Figs. 58–59 ) the coxae and trochanters, anterior and posterior lobe of metathoracic peritreme, abdominal sterna III–VII and genital plates are yellowish orange. In L. excelsus sp. nov. , ( Fig. 60 ) the coxae and trochanters are black; the middle third of abdominal sterna III–VI and anterior margin of VII shiny reddish brown with posterior margin of VII sternite and pleural abdominal margins of sterna III–VII and genital plates yellow; the anterior and posterior lobe of metathoracic peritreme are reddish brown.
