Dimidiosmylus ramosus Khramov in Ponomarenko et al. , 2014 : 1672 (by original designation) ( Mongolia ) ( Late Jurassic ) . Comments. The only known species is represented by a well-preserved basal half of a forewing. The genus was originally not assigned to any family of Neuroptera ( Ponomarenko et al. , 2014 ) , although it was compared with subfamilies of Osmylidae . The venation in general is typical for Osmylidae except some character states, which are not characteristic of the family, i.e., the proximal branches of RP, MA and MP are deeply forked. We consider these conditions as autapomorphies of the genus. The venation is in general most comparable to that of Kempyninae .
