Diagnosis
. Relatively large sized, fore wing
5.9–7.1 mm
; antenna with 46–47 flagellomeres; juxtacoxal carina complete with first perpendicular carina vestigial, second, third and fourth perpendicular carinae present, reaching pleural carina; ovipositor upcurved.
Description. Female

Head
. Densely punctate and covered with setae; lateral height of head 0.70–0.84× the size of mesopleuron; mandibles short and stout, apex 0.72–0.90× as wide as base, upper tooth broader than the lower tooth; malar space 0.4–0.61× as long as basal width of mandible; inner margin of eyes parallel near clypeus; supraclypeal area subquadrate (
Fig. 5A
); width 0.80–1.17× its height; lateral ocellus separated from eye by 0.43–0.78× its own diameter; interocellar distance 0.73–0.88× diameter of lateral ocelli; interocellar area with sparse small setae; antenna with 46–47 flagellomeres; width of first flagellomere 3.25–4.3× its height; height of second flagellomere 0.53–0.64× the height of first flagellomere; last flagellomere cone shaped with a rounded apex, occipital area slightly imbricate.
Mesosoma
. Pronotum dorsolaterally imbricate, laterally and ventrolaterally polished with transverse wrinkles; epomia present reaching the base of mesoscutum; mesoscutum punctate; scutellum and post scutellum densely covered with setae; mesopleuron dorsolaterally reticulate several complete wrinkles and covered with setae; speculum denudate with strong wrinkles (
Fig. 5C
); epicnemial carina present, reaching the posterior part of pronotum; mesopleuron ventrally foveolate without wrinkles and covered with setae; sternaulus absent; posterior transverse carina of mesosternum forming two conspicuous teeth produced near the coxal area; metapleuron punctate and covered with setae with its posterior part densely covered with setae; juxtacoxal carina complete with first perpendicular carina vestigial, second, third and fourth perpendicular carinae present, reaching pleural carina; juxtacoxal area reticulate; pleural carina complete; spiracle elliptical with its width 0.42–0.58× the spiracle height; propodeum hairy and reticulose; petiolar area, areola and basal area with vestigial wrinkles (

); lateral longitudinal carina of propodeum incomplete not reaching propodeum neck; median longitudinal carina of propodeum complete; propodeum neck 0.81–1.01× the size of hind coxa.
Legs
. Height of fore t1 0.69–0.82× height of fore t2–t5, height of mid legs with t1 0.71–0.80× height of mid t2–t5; height of hind t1 0.64–0.94× height of hind t2–t5.

Color
. Pubescence golden.
Head
: black; palpi pale-yellow; mandibles pale-yellow with brown teeth; ocelli orange brown; antenna dark brown, scape and pedicel bicolored, anteriorly yellow and posteriorly brown.
Mesosoma
: black; tegula, fore and mid leg pale-yellow with t5 brown; mid leg with brown and pale-yellow or totally black coxae, trochanter and t4 pale-yellow, t5 brown; hind leg coxae black with dark yellow trochanter and trochantellus femur with dorsal part dark brown and ventral part orange brown to dark brown, tibia to t5 dark brown, tibial spurs dark yellow Metasoma: first sternite light brown; first tergite orange brown (

); tergite 2 dorsally black and ventrally orange brown with a distinct black stripe on its posterior part (
Fig. 5E
), thyridium pale brown; sternite II dark yellow; remaining tergites dorsally black and ventrally orange brown; remaining sternites dark-yellow; ovipositor sheaths and cerci black, ovipositor reddish brown.
Male
: Unknown.
Biology
: Host unknown.
Comments
: Very similar to
Charops eduardoi
sp. nov.
from which it can be easily differentiated by its upcurved ovipositor (vs straight ovipositor).
Etymology
: This species is named in honor of Katia Guarnieri Doria dos Santos, first author’s mother.
