Amblyomma eburneum Gerstäcker, 1873 . An Afrotropical species whose adults are usually found on Artiodactyla : Bovidae ; the few records of immature stages are also from Bovidae ; adults alone have been collected from Artiodactyla : Giraffidae and Suidae , Carnivora : Felidae , Perissodactyla : Rhinocerotidae , Proboscidea : Elephantidae , and Squamata : Varanidae (Guglielmone et al. 2014, Kariuki et al. 2019 ). There are no records of Amblyomma eburneum causing human parasitism. The larva and nymph of Amblyomma eburneum described in Borght-Elbl (1977) are not recognized by Voltzit and Keirans (2003) ; further, the larva of this tick as described in Borght-Elbl (1977) differs morphologically from the description in Voltzit and Keirans (2003) , raising questions about the correct identification of Amblyomma eburneum , as well as the validity of the descriptions and redescriptions above, apart from those of Gerstäcker (1873) .
