This species, also known as the "Puritan Tiger Beetle", is now restricted to two areas, one along the Connecticut River in southern Massachusetts and Connecticut, the other one along the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland (Pearson et al. 2006: 170, 193). It formerly occurred along the Connecticut River as far north as central New Hampshire. Records. USA : CT, MA, MD, NH, NJ, NY, VA, VT Note.
