Description of
holotype
male.
Head: Labium pale, mandible bases pale with large dark mark. Labrum black except for yellow anterior 1/4. Genae pale, pale colour continued to eye margin and narrowly along eye margin from ridge of frons to level of antennal sockets. Anteclypeus pale with dark central marking adjacent to postclypeus. Postclypeus black. Frons black, with distinct ridge, anterior face with paired transverse yellow streaks separated centrally. Vertex black with metallic reflection. Top of scape pale, pale vertical streaks on pedicel, rest of antennae brown. Remainder of head dark metallic green. Distinct ridge-like tubercle situated anteriorly beside eye margin in postocular area.
Thorax: Prothorax dark metallic green except for pale transverse streak on crest of anterior lobe, pale lower part of propleuron and brown terminal parts of horns of posterior pronotal lobe. Shelf of posterior pronotal lobe (
Fig. 5
) short, slightly concave centrally. Horns of posterior pronotal lobe extremely long, rearward directed, bent upward after initial ca 1/4 length (
Fig. 5
). Synthorax (
Fig. 38
) with dorsal carina almost smooth. Mesinfraepisternum metallic green with partial pale border, very short conical tubercle situated in upper anterior corner. Mesepisternum metallic green. Mesepimeron mostly metallic green with narrow streak along mesepleural suture in distal half and broad pale streak along interpleural suture, not reaching antealar carina (
Fig. 38
). Metepisternum pale, large metallic green marking adjacent to antealar carina, separated from small dark mark spanning metapleural suture, metepimeron otherwise pale. Legs with coxa and trochanter pale, femur and tibia pale with dark spines, blackish streaks on extensor surfaces and dark markings around joint. Tarsi yellowish darkening apically, without denticle. Wings hyaline with dark brown veins. Arc just off Ax2; Ac near Ax2; petiolation ceases before reaching level of Arc. R4 arising at subnodus, IR3 distal to subnodus. 14 Px in Fw, 13 Px in Hw. Pterostigma brown with pale margin, rectangular, costal side a little shorter than subcostal side.
Abdomen: S1–2 dark dorsally, becoming pale on sides; S3–7 dorsally dark, paler laterally with narrow pale basal ring. S8–10 diffusely brown. Cerci yellowish brown, more than twice length of S10. Fork of upper branch at slightly over 1/3 length of upper branch (
Fig. 63
). In lateral view upper branch shaped as in
Fig. 51
, with tiny black internal tooth at tip (not visible in figures). In dorsal view spur ca 1/2 length of distance from S10 to fork, ca as long as wide and well visible in lateral view. Lower branch very short, white, not visible in lateral view in
holotype
(
Fig. 51
shows a
paratype
), where S10 is flattened, distorting its shape and that of paraprocts. Paraprocts typical for genus.
Measurements
(mm): abdomen including cerci 39, Hw 22.
Female.
Similar to male except for broader yellow band on anterior part of labrum. S8 black with yellowish sides in apical half; S9 yellowish except for narrow black dorsal streak.
Measurements
(mm): abdomen 37, Hw 24.
Diagnosis.
The species can easily be told apart from the rest of its congeners by the extremely long horns of the posterior pronotal lobe.
