Species recognition. See
D. cornuta
, from which this species differs by the brown body color and the single row of peglike setae (

). Most specimens of this species lack hind tibial setae, but
one specimen
had one anterodorsal seta, and was treated by
Brown & Kung (2007)

Distribution. Widespread in the Neotropical Region, excluding
Chile
