The genus is related to
Piezocerus
Melzer, 1932 (
Mermudes & Monné, 2009
), but differs primarily by the structure of the scape, which is slightly dilated toward the apex, and by having the prosternal and mesosternal processes very narrow. In
Piezocerus
the scape is not dilated and the intercoxal processes are half as wide as the respective coxae.
