Material examined. BATANG HARI DRAINAGE : ZRC 39129 (1), 196.7 mm . INDRAGIRI DRAINAGE : ZRC 39088 (2), 225.0, 245.0 mm SL. Remarks. Pangasius djambal is so far only known from Java and Borneo ( Roberts and Vidthayanon, 1991 ) and our record of this species represents the ®rst from Sumatra . The fact that such a large ®sh has remained unrecorded from Sumatra until now raises the possibility that its presence is due to introductions from Java or Borneo for aquaculture.
