Remarks.
Pangasius djambal
is so far only known from
Java
and Borneo (
Roberts and Vidthayanon, 1991
) and our record of this species represents the ®rst from
Sumatra
. The fact that such a large ®sh has remained unrecorded from
Sumatra
until now raises the possibility that its presence is due to introductions from
Java
or Borneo for aquaculture.
