Flum. 5: 210, tab. 43, 1829. Eugenia vallsiana Mattos , Loefgrenia 105: 2. 1995 . The protologue of Hexachlamys humilis ( Berg 1855 -1856) consists in a generic-specific description which cites Sellow s.n. as type, a specimen probably lost. Nevertheless, in his treatment of Brazilian Myrtaceae Berg (1857 -1859) extends his description and cites an additional collection of Sellow made at S. Ignacio, in the Brazilian state of ParanĂ¡, of which there exists a duplicate at US , and may be considered an adequate lectotype . Eugenia anomala is the correct name for Hexachlamys humilis when this genus is merged with Eugenia , as is the case in the Brazilian list. This species has been erroneously cited as Eugenia plurisepala Barb.Rodr. ex Chodat & Hassl. ( Sobral 2003 ) and E. vallsiana ( Stehmann et al. , 2009 ) .
