The wasp pulled the paralyzed tarantula backwards across low branches, dorsal side upward, grasping the base of its right foreleg with her mandibles ( Mahlmann 2023 ). There is a previous host record from French Guiana for P.plutus with an armed spider of the genus Phoneutria Perty ( Ctenidae ) ( Kurczewski et al. 2022b ).
