Identification.
The specimens above differ from
S
.
astralis
by the stridulatory structure on the lateral margin of the laterotergites formed by a row of widely separated knob-like denticles (
Fig. 12G, J
). The male has the venter of abdominal segment VIII centrally expanded but not forming a lobule, and the female has short posterior projections on the dorsum of abdominal segment VIII, with about one-third the length of the segment at the midline (
Floriano et al. 2017
).
