Protearomyia hermonensis
MacGowan & Freidberg
Protearomyia hermonensis
MacGowan & Freidberg, 2008
:
Israel
Journal of Entomology
, 38: 69 (
Protearomyia
). Type locality: Har Hermon (
Israel
).
Holotype
♂
(SMNHTAU). Male terminalia: Figs. 7–9 (
MacGowan & Freidberg 2008
), Figs. 27–31 (
MacGowan 2014
)
Distribution:
Israel
,
Turkey
.
There is little specific habitat information although
MacGowan & Freidberg (2008)
note that on Mt. Hermon,
Israel
the specimens in the
type
series were probably swept from three species of oak:
Quercus boissieri
Reut.
,
Q. cerris
L., and
Q. libani
Oliv. This
species seems to prefer higher altitudes, in
Israel
records are from above
1500 m
(
MacGowan & Freidberg 2008
) and Turkish records are from over
1200m
. Most specimens have been captured in May, but the flight period extends until the end of June.
