Type species: Capsus pteridis Fallén, 1807 (by monotypy). The genus currently contains ten fern-feeding species predominantly distributed in southern China and Taiwan . Only two species have relatively wide ranges, B. gracilis Linnavuori, 1962 known from southern China to Japan and New Guinea , and B. pteridis Fallén, 1807 widely distributed in the forest zone of the Palearctic Region ( Hu & Zheng 2000 ; Konstantinov & Knyshov, 2015 ).
