Ditomus tomentosus
Dejean, 1831: 519
.
The specimen here recognized as
holotype
is a male bearing the labels: “

Tanger
”, “Goudot”, “ex-Museo Chaudoir” and “

The genus
Oedesis
currently includes seven species with a similar distribution pattern as that mentioned for the genus
Odontocarus
. The genus
Oedesis
is well differentiated from other genera of Ditomi (
Antoine, 1959
).
Two species occur in the Ibero-Maghrebian area,
O. tomentosus
and
O. villosulus
(Reiche, 1860)
which are readily distinguished by body size, elytral pubescence, epipleura etc. (
Antoine, 1959
).
