, this species has been recorded from the Florida Keys (

)). The presence of this species at CV inlet extends its geographic distribution within the Gulf to Veracruz State,
Mexico
.
Remarks:
Hartmanodes nyei
constitutes one of the main food components of pleuronectiform fishes from the continental shelf of South
Brazil
and North
Uruguay
(
Wakabara
et al
., 1982
). The depth range at which it occurs is
1 to 166 m
and it has a preference for muddy sands (
Wakabara
et al
., 1991
).
The salinity and temperature ranges measured at the collection site were 19 to 27 %o and 28 to 29 °C, respectively.
