Leptopareia luzonensis
sp. nov.
is similar to
L. borneana
(Cameron)
for general habitus, deep notaular pits and distinct and complete notauli. However, it can be separated from the latter by F1 at least 2.5 × as long as F2 (at most 2 × in
L. borneana
), and apex of T3 with deep median notch (without median notch in
L. borneana
).
Description.
Female
. Body length
7.2 mm
. Fore wing length
4.7 mm
. OOL = 2 MOD; POL = 2.3 MOD; MS = 0.5 MOD; relative length of P:F1:F2:F3 = 1:2:0.8:0.7.
Head.
Head with large and deep punctures (
Fig. 8B
) on frons and vertex; punctures on vertex contiguous and aligned. Scapal basin deep, and transversally wrinkled or striate. Gena with fine and oblique wrinkles and tiny punctures. Pronotum impunctate, with sparse tiny punctures on posterior margin and row of large and deep pits on anterior and lateral margins. Mesoscutum almost impunctate, with sparse tiny punctures; notaular pits deep and round, notauli complete (
Fig. 8C
). Anterior margin of mesoscutellum without foveae, medially polished or with tiny punctures, laterally with deep and round punctures decreasing toward alar fovea. Metanotum evenly round, with large, deep and round punctures.
Metasoma.
T1 impunctate. T2 and T3 with tiny punctures and wide semitransparent rim. Apex of T3 with deep median notch incised both in semitransparent rim and metallic cuticle (
Fig. 8F
).
