Male:
The central plate of tergum 10 scale-like, mostly sclerotized (
Fig. 2A
), but some specimens more sclerotized along hind margin (
Fig. 4A
). Because there are no color figures of this species in the current literature, we also show the color pattern of the head and pronotum (

), Other characteristics were described in Qian & Du (2012).

Remarks.
Yang & Yang (1995)
did not describe the male of
Rhopalopsole basinigra
in sufficient detail.
Qian & Du (2012a)
checked the types of
R. basinigra
in the Insect Collection of
Beijing
Agricultural University and redescribed the detailed characteristics of this species. We checked the
holotype
and
paratypes
of
R. duyuzhoui
, and it is clear that
R. duyuzhoui
has the typical characteristics of
R. basinigra
. (
Figs. 1–4
). We, therefore, define
R. duyuzhoui
as a junior synonym of
R. basinigra
. Because the lateral projections of abdominal terga 9 (
Figs. 2A–2B
) of
R. basinigra
have typical characteristics (long and sinuous) of the
R. dentata
group as proposed by
Sivec
et al
. (2008)
, we think this species is a member of
R. dentata
group.
