Etymology: From the locality Berru and from the Greek lhsth ς, a robber, a common suffix for insectivorous mammal genera. Masculine. Diagnosis: P 1 one-rooted (only known in B. phelizoni and shared with Walbeckodon ). P 4 with low crestiform paraconid, basined lingually and isolated by notch from paracristid in most individuals. DP 4 also with low crestiform paraconid. M 1 preparacrista indistinct, directed mesiobuccally (shared with W. girardi ). M 1 parastyle large, mesially pointed (shared with Dipavali and Gigarton ). M 1 metaconid mesially convex (shared with Prolouisina , Louisina , and Teilhardimys brisswalteri ). M 1 postentocristid distally concave (shared with Dipavali and L. mirabilis ). M 1 pre-entocristid with concave edge (shared with W. girardi , Pa. dolloi , and Pa. yvettae ). M 1 entoconid about half the height of the metaconid (shared with Thryptodon ). M 1–2 cristid obliqua with steep main slope and rising a short distance up trigonid back wall (shared with Dipavali and Gigarton ).
