Syrien ( Smyrna ) , Algier.— Bisher nur , weshalb auch nicht sicher zu bestimmen, ob es sich lediglich um eine Varietät oder um eine selbständige Art handelt . Dimensions. Truncuslänge wie bei G. rufescens etwa 13 mm . Oldest label. Gluviopsis rufescens Poc. var. discolor Krpln , ex Typus , E. Simon l. d. 6. VIII.1899 , Syrien ( Kraepelin handwriting). Additional label. Gluviopsilla discolor (Krpln) , 1 Syrien . Roewer rev. 1931— No . 8359 ( Roewer handwriting). Type material. Syntype ♀, juvenile (ZMH-A0000180). Taxonomic remarks. Kraepelin described this variety based on females from Syria that differed from the nominate species in colouration, but refrained from describing a new species because only females were available. The specimen in the ZMH comes from the Simon collection, therefore other syntypes are likely deposited at MNHN and a lectotype should be designated from this collection. Roewer (1933: 378) created a new genus and elevated this variety to species level, but also described the male for the first time. He examined 2 ♂ and 8 ♀ including the type , from Syria , Algeria , the Greek islands of Kalymnos and Nisyros, and Turkey for his description. We do not know where these specimens are located. Current systematic position. Daesiidae , Gluviopsilla discolor ( Kraepelin 1899 ) .
