DESCRIPTION. — Characterised by a bare prementum, rostrum with a median carina but no sublateral carinae, a transversely convex dorsal surface of rostrum, elytral processes arising from apical margin or slightly above, and an indistinct or extremely narrow bevel between outer combs of hind tibiae. 8.5-12.0 mm. TYPE MATERIAL . — 4 syntypes present. Lectotype female, 14.2 x 6.6 mm , ‘ New Hebrides , Elytrurus marginatus Saunders & Jekel , Bowring’ , NHML . Paralectotypes with MNHN , NHML . Identified non-type specimens with BPBM , IRSN , MNHN , NHML , NZAC . MATERIAL EXAMINED . — Vanuatu . Erromango , Tanna , Aneityum. 36 specimens . REMARKS. — One specimen in the Coll. Castelnau/Roelofs of Brussels (IRSN) bears a label reading ‘N. Caled.’ I should think that it was an error of labelling.
