Aradus ampliatus
seems to be rare and is recorded only from
California
and
Utah
. It is a large, dark colored species and easily recognized by the third antennal segment which has a yellowish apical ring. Its size of about
10mm
and the pronotal structure resemble that of
Aradus
crenatus
SAY, 1831, from the eastern
USA
