Gryllodinus abditus

and
G. jijilacus

Remarks.
The distinct feature of
Gryllodinus
species
is the clypeus is very large and strongly convex. Three species of the genus were recorded worldwide (
Gorochov, 1979
). Although they possess similar appearance with each other (
Gorochov, 1979
;
Gorochov, 1986
;
Uvarov, 1911
), the male genitalia are distinct (
Gorochov, 1979
). Besides overall similarity in this genus, the species also resemble to some species of
Modicogryllus
and
Turanogryllus
, from arid areas.
G. odicus
for example,
Uvarov (1911)
indicated that it is similar with G.
kerkennensis
and
Turanogryllus lateralis
(
Fieber, 1853
)
in coloration and pattern of head and pronotum; and
Gorochov (1979)
indicated that it similar to
M. pallipalpis
,
M. latefasciatus
,
M. pseudocyprius
,
M. nitidus
and
M. algirius
, and very similar to
M. pseudocyprius
and
M. algirius
. In this study, the specimens of the genus found in
China
rather resemble to the species
T. lateralis
. And we used to confuse these two species so much that when we went to
Xinjiang
to collect our samples, we mistakenly assumed that the specimens of
T. lateralis
was the species of
Gryllodinus
we were looking for. Here is the genus
Gryllodinus
is initially introduced to
China
.
