This species is easily recognized by its epiphytic habit, persistent fibrous cataphylls, cordate to hastate-trilobate blades, usually with undulate margins and lilac spadices. In the field, it can be confused with Anthurium sp. 2 , but differs in having larger blades, green cucullate spathes, and yellow spadices. Distribution and ecology. Colombia , Costa Rica , Ecuador , Panama , and Venezuela . In the study area, this species grows at mid-elevation ( 500– 700 m ) areas in evergreen forests. It is relatively abundant and can grow occasionally as terrestrial (falling from trees), but is usually epiphytic.
